I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the Sage School of Philosophy at Cornell University, where my research focuses on human rights. Before starting my doctoral studies, I earned a J.D. from the University at Buffalo. My work explores the ethical foundations and practical implications of human rights at the intersection of law and philosophy.
I seek to apply some of my work in applied ontology — where philosophical methodologies are used to structure data for AI/ML. My current ontology research focuses on formalizing key concepts in international law and political theory using realist frameworks, like Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) and the Common Core Ontologies (CCO). I am particularly interested in data about state sovereignty, acts of coercion between states, and great power competition generally.
Outside of academia, I love cooking, hiking, and spending time with my husband and our two sons.
